Leasing activity this quarter was the strongest it has been in the recent past, registering 1,632, 353 square feet of positive absorption across the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD). Landlords continue to gradually push lease rates up across the GVRD, as a result of the lack of available options in the market. This lack of available options is very evident when looking at the decrease in vacancy from 1.5% in the first quarter of this year, to 1.1% as it sits today. The demand for space is still outpacing the supply of new product in all submarkets of the GVRD, especially for warehouse and distribution space. |
